Our History

In 1880, the first Methodist Church was built in Robbinsville, county seat and first town of the county. It has been renovated but it is still in use today and it was the residence of deceased member Hoke Phillips and stands on the hill above the old Post Office on Main Street in Robbinsville. In 1897, a new church was built near the location of the Robbinsville Masonic Hall. The land was donated by Captain N.M.E. Slaughter, a relative of Marion Ingram. This church was used until 1938 when the beautiful native stone church was built on Main Street beside Snider's Department Store, currently Hosanna Baptist church.
In 1968, having used the old rock church for 30 years and needing more adequate facilities, the congregation bought property on Fort Hill in anticipation of building a new church. Construction was started on the new church in 1979 and the first service was held there the first Sunday in June, 1980. The same spirit of cooperation, sacrificial giving and true dedication to serving their Lord which had been the driving force of these people called Methodists for 100 years prevailed during this time.
An interesting footnote to this history is that in the first 100 years there have been 51 different pastors. Many served only one year and three served as long as five years. Present pastor, Jeff Ramsland, has served since 2011.
